Background

WDP is a competitive grant program funded by the NJ Department of Labor for workforce training.The Center for Training and Development will help you assess your needs, write and submit the grant, and then manage the grant for you. Examples:

Program Conditions

  • Department of Labor pays for instruction and books (60% of grant)
  • Company-matching (in-kind) costs = wages of workers while in training (40% of grant)
  • Company pays trainees normally while they are in class
  • Company insures that appropriate workers are assigned and attend classes
  • All training must be completed within one (1) year after the grant is signed
  • If the company leaves NJ within three (3) years after the grant, it must refund the grant money
